At Society, Jack and Diane talk about her successful presentation. She can’t enjoy it because she’s still upset about Kyle. Jack feels she’s being much too hard on herself. He reminds her that she won back their son’s trust. She interjects, “Only to lose it all over again.” Jack thinks that where there is love, there is hope. He believes she and Kyle truly love each other. Diane loves the life she and Jack share, but it’s hard for her to feel joy, knowing that Kyle thinks her happiness has come at his expense.

At Crimson Lights, Kyle and Audra debate about what they’re focus should be. Claire walks in and Kyle lights up. Audra turns and looks. She tells Claire that Kyle is all hers… she has to go meet with their investor. “You two have fun.” Claire tells Kyle that Audra doesn’t like her. Kyle laughs that he has a feeling Audra’s bad mood will get worse after her meeting. He invites Claire to sit down. She gushes about Harrison being so cute at school… she wanted her to be his partner but she told him she couldn’t go in with him. Kyle has a Harrison update too. He’ll buy her a coffee and tell her all about it. Kyle brings Claire an iced coffee and suggests they go for a walk. She’d like that very much.

At the Club, Chelsea spots Billy at the bar and approaches him. His assistant said she could find him there. Billy tells her he’s been busy… he fired Lily and Chance quit, so everything’s on him. Chelsea was really hoping they could talk. They sit and Billy repeats that he’s been preoccupied with work. Chelsea understands why he can’t come to her about it anymore. She knows he said he needed time, but Connor has noticed he hasn’t been around. She told him they were on a break. Billy observes that this is different than the last time. Chelsea cries that it’s deeper, which is why it hurts so much. Billy nods, “You let me in.” She cries about how gentle and loving he was… he’s doing it right now. Billy admits he’s angry. “I don’t want to hold on so long that the love turns to…” Chelsea wipes away a tear. “OK. Thank you for helping me heal and reminding me with your love that I matter.”

Chelsea understands Billy can’t be a part of her life anymore. He tried to put his feelings and ego aside… but it was Adam. Chelsea says this isn’t about Adam… she’s the one who broke her commitment to him. She knows she’s inflicted wounds that may never heal. Billy really wishes he could get over this. Chelsea doesn’t want him to feel badly about that. Billy has so much going on at work, and she and Adam need to be there for Connor. He assures her that her being there for her son only made him love her more. “Connor has to come first, and I don’t want you to be burdened with the pain and guilt of our situation. You need to be there for your son.” Chelsea takes his hand and tells him he’s the kindest, gentlest man she’s ever known. She worries about how Connor will feel when he finds out she and Billy are over. Any change can make the OCD flare, and he’s already been blaming himself. She told him emphatically that he’s not to blame, but he doesn’t believe her. Billy will talk to him.

Lily arrives at Victor’s office, and he asks if she has any new information about Billy and Chancellor. Lily does have new information, and once he hears it, he’s going to realize the time to move is now. Victor learns that Chance walked away after giving him an ultimatum. He wanted to save the company as well and realized someone needed to keep Billy in line. They have to move before Billy closes the disastrous deal for Chancellor. Victor asks, “What’s the name of the company?” Lily reminds him he hasn’t given her a firm answer on their partnership. She offers to reiterate her terms… she will help him take down Billy, and he will reinstate her as CEO of Chancellor. Victor says, “We have a deal. So, what’s the name of the damn company?” Lily tells him it’s Odyssey 7. “I promise you, Victor, you will never be sorry.” Victor grunts, “I never am.” Just then, Victoria walks in.

Victor tells Victoria that Lily was just expressing disdain at the direction Billy’s taking Chancellor in, and has offered to help them strip him of his power. Victoria is having mixed feelings about undermining him like this. Victor argues he undermines himself. He understands why Lily’s upset, but he also understands her concern for the father of her children. Billy will always have a place at Jabot. Lily also cares about Billy and promises she’s only doing this for the company and to save Billy from the guilt he’ll feel if he drives it into the ground. Victor tells Lily she reminds him of Neil. It’s as if he were there at Newman Tower.

After Lily leaves, Victoria tells her father she got the feeling he was being less than forthcoming with Lily just now. Victor insists he and her mother have a deep appreciation of Lily both personally and professionally. Victoria says that doesn’t answer her question; she supposes she’s not getting one. Cole appears and wants to take Victoria to lunch. She goes to grab her bag from her office. Victor tells Cole, “Didn’t I make myself clear? I don’t like you associating with my daughter.” Cole suddenly feels sixteen again. Victor doesn’t trust him, “You betrayed me. And you continue to defy me.” Cole asks if he seriously thinks he can order him to stay away from his daughter. Victor intones, “I just did.”

At Society, Jack feels partly to blame for what happened between Diane and Kyle because he let things fester and didn’t step in. Diane doesn’t think she can be happy knowing that Kyle hates her. Jack won’t give up hope that they can make things right with their family.

In the park, Claire notices that Harrison has Kyle’s smile. Kyle breaks the news that he and Summer met with their attorneys and worked things out. Claire beams, “I knew that you could do it.” Kyle wonders how she was able to remain such an optimist. She asks about Glissade. Kyle says things are going very well… now that he’s shown their investor they were right to put their faith in him.

Audra arrives in Victor’s office and can see he’s not in the best of moods. Victor, ignores her for his phone, but says, “I understand you told someone about my investment in Glissade.” He has zero tolerance for defiance and even less for lies. If she loses his trust, it’s nearly impossible to regain it.

Chelsea and Connor walk into Crimson Lights, where Billy tells the kid he asked him mom if he could talk to him man-to-man. He wants to be direct. Connor says he’d appreciate that. Chelsea leaves them to it. Billy invites Connor to sit and tells him that he’s his mom’s whole world. Connor knows she’s trying to protect him. Billy talks about how his mom wasn’t as gentle as Chelsea; she called him an idiot when he made mistakes. Connor thinks that is messed up. Billy tells Connor how much Chelsea does for him. Connor thinks maybe they’re breaking up because his mom is so busy doing things for him. Billy says it has nothing to do with him at all. “I’m an idiot, remember?” Connor asks if he did something to hurt his mom. Billy just needs to focus on Abbott Chancellor right now and he doesn’t have time to love someone as amazing as his mom.

At the Club, Cole senses Victoria is unhappy with something her father has done. She says he has it in for Billy and is using Lily Winters toward that end. She doesn’t see it ending well. Cole knows she wants Chancellor for her mom. Victoria warns him not to let anyone know she confided that to him. She tells Cole she’s already considered telling Billy about her father’s plan. He knows she always takes care of those she cares about. Victoria asks what Cole and her father talked about. Cole admits he told him to stay away from her, but “I am not afraid of Victor Newman.” He teases that it makes the romance exciting. Victoria lets Cole know he’s doing everything just right. Cole tells Victoria that riding no longer gives him a jolt of energy, now it’s her. Victoria tells him how much she missed him when he went to Oxford to get his things. It’s more than just Claire bringing them together. Cole tells her every time he sees her, she’s more beautiful to him. Every day, he’s reminded of the things he adores about her. Victoria husks that she’d like him to show her what he means.

In the park, Kyle tells Claire he’s confident the challenges at work will be behind him soon enough. She asks about the challenges with his parents. He says they don’t trust him, and he can’t rely on them. Claire thinks things can get better. Kyle doesn’t see it. Claire tells him that even if he’s given up, she hasn’t. Kyle tells her she doesn’t have to look out for him. Claire isn’t sure about that and intends to keep doing just that.

At Crimson Lights, Billy tells Connor he’ll always consider him part of his family. He’s a great kid and is one of the bravest people he’s ever met. Connor asks, “Then why am I so scared all the time?” Billy points out it doesn’t stop him from doing what he needs to do. Connor is glad they’re family. Billy asks the kid to be gentle with his mom and give her a few extra hugs. Connor says sure and tells Billy they’ll always be friends. Billy hugs him as Sally comes in. Connor leaves and Sally walks over. “I saw you with Connor. I hope you don’t think less of me for hiding.” Billy says they were having a heart-to-heart. Sally knows his is broken. Billy says, “So is yours.” They decide to get out of there.

In Victor’s office, he tells Audra to stop lying. He knows she told Nate Hastings. Audra says he guessed. Victor says it was up to her to convince him otherwise. Audra says that wasn’t feasible since they’re involved. Victor doesn’t trust her and he doesn’t trust Nate Hastings. Audra snaps, “Well, I trust Nate a hell of a lot more than I trust Kyle Abbott.” Audra complains that she has to be given the freedom to make her own choices, and that includes who to trust. Victor says, “You trusted Tucker McCall, where did that get you?” She says it got her Glissade. She thinks Kyle worked him to advance his own agenda. “What do you think his motive was for doing that?” Victor doesn’t owe her an answer and asks her to kindly leave.

At Society, Diane doesn’t want to put this on Jack, but he assures her it’s not a burden and asks her to promise not to give up on their son. Diane will keep trying to make things right with Kyle. Just then, Kyle and Claire walk in, laughing. Kyle turns to leave when he sees his parents, but Claire pulls him over to the table and asks, “Would it be OK if we all sat down together to talk?”

In the park, Billy and Sally sit sadly side-by-side on the bench.

In a suite at the Club, Cole lays Victoria down on the bed after they kiss to make love to her.
