Young & Restless Heartbreak: ‘Ally’s’ Fate Revealed as the Cheating Scandal Blows Sky-High

The simmering pot of guilt that is Chelsea finally boiled over on Young & Restless and her betrayal came spilling out. With Billy’s worst fear being slowly realized, it’s only a matter of time before the truth rears its ugly head over at Adam’s place too. Will Sally and Adam’s relationship survive the cheating reveal? Here’s what we know…

Young & Restless spoilers tell us that Adam will stand his ground even though Sally has asked him point blank if he slept with Chelsea in Baltimore (or was it Chelsea and Walter that he slept with?! Now that would be a twist!).

Anyway, Adam may be new and improved, but he’s clearly not been redeemed to the point that he sees the value in being completely truthful with one’s partner. Sally’s realized as much and has put the pieces together without his help. We know this because she had a conversation with Billy discussing the possibility that what Adam and Chelsea have been hiding is that they slept together that “one night”. Neither of them exactly said those words, but they both knew that would be the only thing to explain their partners’ strange behavior and cryptic words.

It was something Sally said during this conversation that foreshadowed how the fallout might go for her and Adam. She wondered aloud if Chelsea and Adam had bonded over the painful situation with Connor much like she and Adam did when they lost Ava. The pain was what brought them back together. What if that is what happened in Baltimore?

Sally was basically saying that if that’s how it went down between Adam and Chelsea, she could almost understand it. That bit of dialogue also told us that if Adam had come clean right away, there might have been a chance that, as heartbroken as Sally would feel over the betrayal, they could have survived it. Unfortunately, that’s not what happened.

With Adam doubling down not only on his lies as he attempts to cover up the dirty deed, but also going so far as to tell Sally she’s being paranoid, he’s really cooked his own goose. The foreshadowing has already told us what Sally’s reaction to the cheating will be. We’re guessing something along the lines of, “If you’d told me the truth when it happened, we might have been able to work through it together. I might have understood. It’s the lies and gaslighting that I can’t get past.” After all, as even the staunchest “Ally” fans are aware, it’s not the first time Adam has gaslit Sally and lied to her.

We’re not sure who’s going to end up with who after all is said and done, but the writing seems to be on the wall for the latest chapter in Adam and Sally’s story to come to a grinding, and heartbreaking, halt.
