The Young and the Restless Rewrites The History, An Unexpected Summer-Harrison Connection Revealed

Summer and Kyle’s battle for Harrison’s custody has reached new heights, reveal The Young and the Restless spoilers. Until now, Summer was only claiming custody based on her and Harrison’s love for each other, and that she is his stepmom. However, the soap is now rewriting history that will change everything.

Recently, in an argument, Kyle ripped into Summer, reminding her that she’ll never win the custody battle because she isn’t Harrsion’s real (biological) mother. This gives him an upper hand on Summer if the battle does go to court. Since Tara Locke, Harrison’s bio mom, is in prison, Kyle is his only available bio parent.

Thus, if he isn’t an irresponsible father, which he isn’t, no court would take away his custody right. Especially when the opposing party is a stepmom. Summer herself claimed on many occasions that she is indeed a step-parent. However, in a more recent The Young and the Restless episode, it was mentioned that Summer is actually his legal mom.

Meaning that she adopted Harrison. In fact, Summer mentioned that she adopted him when they were in Italy. Which, by the way, never happened on screen. Does that mean the makers are rewriting history just to give Summer a more fighting chance in court? But how is it even possible when Tara Locke is still alive?

There has been no mention of Tara even giving up her parental right to Harrison. Moreover, she is in prison for a white-collar embezzlement crime, which does not account for something that could automatically cause her to lose her right to her own child. Moreover, it is very hard to believe that she would willingly give it up to Summer!
