General Hospital’s Emme Rylan Confirms Lulu Spencer Recast Leak Points to Stephanie Gatschet as Replacement

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu Spencer) recently spoke out about the show taking her former role in another direction. Although Rylan was clearly hoping to reprise the part of Lulu Spencer, she confirmed in an Instagram story that a recast was in the works.

“Yes it is true. GH has decided to recast Lulu,” Rylan said. “Although I am very disappointed with their choice, I am glad to finally have closure. (And thank goodness GH brought all of you fabulous people into my life! Love you guys!)”

This comes on the heels of a casting call for a blonde female in the 34-to-40 age range.

It was for the role of “Lauren,” a gorgeous and feisty character who had overcome some difficult challenges and was ready to show off her strength as well as determination.

Casting calls often have disguised names, so that certainly made it sound like GH was on the hunt for a new Lulu Spencer.

Now Emme Rylan is letting fans know that they apparently reached out to her with news on that choice.

The new Lulu will start filming in mid-September according to TV Insider’s predictions, which could put her on-screen in October or perhaps a little later if they want Lulu’s return to happen during November sweeps.

As for who’ll be playing Lulu when she finally awakens from her coma, there’s some buzz about one actress in particular.

Based on some insider leaks, Stephanie Gatschet reportedly had a meeting with GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini.

Of course, that doesn’t guarantee that Gatschet will be the new Lulu, but she certainly looks the part and has soap experience.

Gatschet had lengthy stints on All My Children and Guiding Light along with a brief one-episode gig on As The World Turns.

We’ll pass along more updates on the Lulu Spencer recast situation and let you know for sure who scores the part.

How do you feel about the show recasting Lulu? Would you have preferred to see Emme Rylan or even Julie Marie Berman back in the role?

Whatever the case, a new Lulu is on the way, so let’s hope fans can keep open minds and give the next actress a real chance to win us all over.

General Hospital spoilers say comatose Lulu’s awakening will bring some gripping drama, so stay tuned!
