It’s been years now since people started doing the Hot Sauce Challenge but given that there are many out there who haven’t put their taste buds to the test, it’s always interesting to watch when they do. General Hospital’s Steve Burton (Jason) and his girlfriend, BBQ Showdown star Michelle Lundstrom, recently took on the challenge — and gave fans a front row seat.
Lundstrom posted a video on social media seated next to Burton, both dressed in black, with various chicken wings and hot sauces on a table before them. “I like your food,” Burton stated. “But I don’t like hot sauce.” His lady love reiterated for the audience, “We’re mild sauce lovers,” then the couple took a bite of their wings after dipping them in some habanero mango pepper sauce. Both liked the flavor and Burton even went in for seconds.
They each took a sip from a glass of milk, which is “supposed to help when it gets spicy.” Burton joked, “Honestly, the last time I drank a glass of milk was 1988.” Next up was some fire roasted garlic and habanero pepper sauce. This caused a reaction from them both — Burton’s mouth was on fire and he started to sweat as Lundstrom fanned her mouth and stated, “I feel like I’m a dragon.”
Next, ghost pepper sauce, which was rated at five flames… As Lundstrom made an awful sound, Burton laughed and asked, “What are you doing?” However, both kept going and for the finale… a bhut jolokia ghost peeper sauce. “That’s hot,” he announced, as she added, “We’re dead, we’re done.”
Watch the video below to hear what questions they asked each other while attempting to fight the fire, including one for Burton about his favorite General Hospital co-star.
If they can do it, so can yo
