‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: How Kelly Monaco Went Off -Script To Say Thank You And A Fond Farewell To Her Fans
‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Kelly Monaco recently wrapped up her 21-year run with GH as Sam McCall. In what is thought to be her final scene, Monaco went off-script to thank fans for their love and support and to say goodbye.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Monaco Made The ASL Sign For “I Love You”
Kelly Monaco was recently unceremoniously fired from the show, and her fans have been rallying for the show to rehire her since the minute the news hit the soap sites. Unfortunately, the outcry of thousands of fans went unheard, and the actress was let go.
During the October 24th episode of the soap, Sam was being wheeled in for surgery. She’s donating part of her liver to a comatose Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havens) to save her life. Several characters are worried Lulu won’t make it through surgery.
The irony of it all is that Lulu will live, but Sam won’t. Watching Sam’s last moment play out on the show has been difficult because we all know the outcome.
Sam’s kids, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) and Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinate), her mom, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), and, of course, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) were all present to wish her luck. Others were there to see her off as well.
As Sam was being taken into the operating room by her brother, Lucas Jones (Van Hasis), she raised her left arm and made the American Sign Language sign for “I love you” as she faded out of sight.
The sign appeared to be a special wink and nod to the fans who have watched her and stood by her for all these years. Fans took to social media to find out if the gesture was scripted.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Actress Personally Answered A Curious Fan
One fan on X who threw out the question shared a screenshot of Sam’s final scene with her arm extended, forming the sign, and asked,
“Ok, I really need to know if that ‘I love you sign’ was scripted or if Kelly Monaco threw that in there for us.”
The actress personally solved the mystery and answered,
“It was not scripted,”
Adding a kiss-throwing emoji. Her follower responded,
“Thank you, I had a feeling it wasn’t! I see your (sign for I love you), and raise you a (sign for I love you)!”
Many fans have been dreading Sam’s departure. Monaco obviously felt the love from all her fans and decided to utilize her last scene to respond.
Unfortunately, two glaring omissions from that final scene were Sam’s sisters (the Davis girls), Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) and Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos).
In Sam’s last scene with Kristina and Molly, they are all at Alexis’s house. Sam tells them she will be Lulu’s donor.
Instead of showing Sam support, they made it all about them. Kristina jumped on Sam and said that because she wasn’t choosing sides, it was like she was abandoning both of them.
Sam expected them to be mature for her sake, but they were too busy fighting. They will have to live with this being their last interaction with Sam. Her death will be heartbreaking to her family, especially her kids.
