NEWEST UPDATE!! An Unlikely Alliance, a Reluctant Accomplice and ‘Really Exciting’ Twists Ahead

General Hospital has really dropped Portia in hot water this time — and simultaneously tarnished her halo, too. Not only did she alter Heather’s test results in hopes of keeping the hook killer locked up, she’s teamed up with Ava to cover her tracks, made an accomplice of Curtis and been forced to question whether her moral compass is broken.

“It feels like this story is moving in a way that’s really exciting,” Brook Kerr tells Soap Opera Digest. “It’s challenging Portia to look at how she’s handled life. Maybe she needs to go about things a little bit differently, you know?

“I feel like it’s giving her some cynicism,” she adds, “like she’s taking off her rose-colored glasses a bit because sometimes, you have to be able to fight.”

If anyone knows about that attitude, it’s Ava. So Portia could hardly do any better than to have the femme fatale in her corner; she’s the expert at getting out of impossible situations. “We’re both kind of grimy fighters, you know what I mean? We’ll get down in there!” says Kerr in character. “Portia is like, ‘I finally have one person that… maybe can help me through this.’”

Technically, she has two — that is, if Curtis can stay the course. Though many a married might balk at their spouse breaking the law, no matter how good their intentions, Kerr notes that Portia’s husband seems to be on board. “He’s like, ‘Well, I’ve got to be [OK]  with this because you’re my wife and I want to protect you, even if this is not what I wanted you to do.’”
