Many viewers miss seeing Finn wandering the halls of General Hospital but before Michael Easton landed the role on the ABC soap, he stole hearts as John on One Life to Live. The actor was recently reminded of his Llanview role when “someone was kind enough” to send him a clip of John’s arrival in the fictional Pennsylvania town 21 years ago.
“I’m not particularly sentimental but it’s really nice to see the amazing Melissa Archer [Natalie], Trevor St. John [Todd] and David Fumero [Cristian],” Easton stated of the scene where John turned up at Roadies looking for Natalie. “Two decades later and we’re all still friends.”
While Archer took to the comments to reply, “Love this throwback! Great seeing you and the boys,” another actress replied as well, one who appeared on not only one but two soaps with Easton.
Departing General Hospital actress Kelly Monaco (Sam) appeared opposite Easton in the soap’s spinoff Port Charles as Livvie and vampire Caleb. In fact, the onscreen duo shared some of the steamiest scenes on soaps. Fast-forward to Easton’s role as Finn… Viewers may recall how Sam was startled to see him and relayed how much he looked like her ex Silas, Caleb’s brother. However, it wasn’t Finn or Silas or even John who Monaco will forever remember…
“Caleb (from Port Charles) will forever hold the number one spot in my heart, John McBain is a close second,” Monaco shared then went on to recall how he was her first co-star 25 years ago. “I will cherish our memories and forever be indebted to you for leading me, teaching me and guiding me through the nostalgia of all my firsts.”
October 1st marked what would have been her 21st anniversary and prior to that, just four days before, Monaco taped her last scenes. In celebrating her time on the soap, she credited Easton and stated, “I could not have done that without your patience and dedication, to making sure I felt safe and seen. Two-plus decades later, your impact has forever made an imprint on my soul.”
