Fans of General Hospital’s Kelly Monaco kicked off the weekend today with a massive show of their support. Those involved with I Stand With Kelly, the official campaign that is rallying fans to get the daytime vet rehired on the ABC soap, set up their billboard in New York City’s Times Square on September 20 next to the iconic red steps, which are located in Father Duffy Square, between West 46th and West 47th Streets on 7th Avenue and are a popular tourist attraction — and the team sent Soaps.com some photos that were taken live today, which we have included for you below.

“Our ad, featuring a QR code that links to the petition, will play all day in 30-second intervals on the 19th and 33rd minute of every hour!” the group posted on social media, along with a link to the livestream where the billboard can be seen.

“NYC is a huge tourist destination where ABC also has studios!” they continued. “We are hoping for more eyes on the petition with all of that foot traffic… and we will be sending General Hospital and ABC photos of the billboard too, showing how widespread our message is.”

For those who haven’t kept up with the news, last month it was announced that General Hospital decided to let Monaco go and not only that but were planning to kill Sam off sometime in the fall. The actress has played the role since 2003, and ever since her exit news, fans have been working diligently to get the show to reverse their decision and bring her back home to Port Charles.

Next week, the group will have their billboard back in Los Angeles to continue the fight for Monaco and if you want to join forces with them, be sure to visit their page and sign the petition to show your support too!
