It looks like it’s finally time for Lulu to wake up! We knew this was coming on General Hospital as the show’s been spending a lot more time recently visiting and talking about Laura’s comatose daughter and news broke that the ABC sudser was looking to bring her back with a new face.
And now, it appears the casting search is over as Daytime Confidential reports that General Hospital has landed on a new portrayer. Even better? Longtime soap fans — especially of ABC daytime — will more than likely recognize her as Alexa Havins has reportedly been cast in the role!
Havins got her daytime start originating Krystal and David Hayward’s daughter, Babe, back on All My Children in 2003. She jumped around a bit, making appearances on One Life to Live before Havins left All My Children and the daytime world in 2007. She went on to appear on a string of primetime shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent, a couple CSIs and Grey’s Anatomy before snagging a lead role in BBC’s Doctor Who spinoff, Torchwood.
Havins, of course, is taking over the role from Emme Rylan, who, in turn, took over for Julie Marie Berman. While there were a number of child actors who played Lulu over the years, Berman was the first to play the character an adult.
Lulu finally waking up from the coma she’s been in since 2020, and the timing couldn’t be better. We have a feeling her ex, Dante, is going to need a shoulder to cry on since his current love, Sam, is set to die when Kelly Monaco leaves!
As of right now, we don’t have word on when Havins starts filming or Lulu airing, but if the show has finally settled on the actress to play her, you can bet it’s going to be soon!
