When is a “going” not really a “going”? When it turns out to just be a precursor to a “coming back.” And that seems to be the case where not one or two but three General Hospital actors’ exits are concerned.
The week of July 15, Hudson West bowed out as Jake, as Jason and Liz’s son accepted Dad’s offer to pay for him to attend art school in Spain. But the character isn’t gone for good, nor will the teen be returning to the canvas with a new, older actor after being dealt a case of SORAS (soap-opera rapid-aging syndrome), Soap Opera Digest reports. (It’s a good thing, too, because Jake has some seriously unfinished business in Port Charles.)
Last week also marked the departures of James Patrick Stuart and Scarlett Fernandez as smooth operator Valentin and chip off the ol’ block Charlotte. If the Cassadine conniver were smart, he might stay away, lest he face charges stemming from his involvement with Pikeman. But the heart wants what the heart wants — and his wants Anna (even though it was she who busted him!). So we can expect his ticket out of Port Charles to be a roundtrip one, the website says. (Plus, no way could the show wake up Lulu after all those years in a coma without her daughter Charlotte being there to greet her!)
