Mark visits Clyde in prison. He reports that “Abigail” convinced Chad to go to Paris to avoid traumatizing the kids. She’s a good person. Clyde has done his homework on her — she’s no saint. Mark never said she was, but she’s never done anything like this before. Neither has he. Lucky for Clyde, they’ll do anything to save their mama. He’ll deliver her safe and sound once “Abigail” comes through. Mark promises it won’t be long before “Abigail” is Mrs. Chad DiMera. Clyde wants her to be the Widow DiMera.
At Chad and Abby’s apartment in Paris, Chad explains to “Abigail” that they lived there for a year with the kids. She has a good feeling about the place and thinks it will change everything. He’s just happy to be there with her. As he pours wine, she asks for stories of their time there. He recalls when Abby made them recreate the TLC “Waterfalls” video with Thomas in a park. Chad chuckles over getting really into it and then falling. As they share a laugh, “Abigail” says he’s a really good father and husband. “That’s because I had you by my side,” he says.
Maggie brings lemon bars to Julie’s house. As they eat, Julie tells Maggie about meeting “Abigail.” She had the eyes of a stranger and was very cold to her. When they move on to discussing Sarah, Julie calls it fortuitous that she remembered Brady as the driver. Maggie wonders if she thinks Sarah is lying.
At the Kiriakis mansion, EJ refuses to let Sarah retract her statement about Brady. She and Xander push back, but EJ won’t have egg on his face. If Sarah retracts her statement, he will have her arrested and charged with perjury.
Sipping a drink, Eric coldly eyes Fiona across Small Bar. He thinks back to overhearing Sarah tell Fiona that no one can know what they were talking about. He approaches Fiona and introduces himself as Brady’s brother. He sits and asks about the night of the accident. She wonders why she’d know about that. “Because you were with Brady that night, weren’t you?” he says, pointedly leaning forward. She uneasily says she was planning on ending things with Brady that night. When she got there, she had to de-escalate his argument with the waiter. Brady had a couple more drinks, and he left. Eric counters that the waiter said they left together.
In Paris, Chad tells “Abigail” that everything wasn’t perfect there. He worked too much, and someone from her past (Austin Reed) showed up. They had some rough times, but they always got through them together. He takes her hand and says, “That’s why I know we’ll get through this, too.” “Abigail” pretends that she’s starting to remember. Not specific events, but feelings of being there. For the first time, she feels like Abigail Johanna Devereaux DiMera. Chad leaps up to embrace her. She remembers how much she loves him and passionately kisses him.
In the prison visitors’ room, Clyde says it’ll be easier to get Chad’s money if he’s dead. And since “Abigail” is “alive,” there’s no murder victim, so he should be released soon to collect that money himself. As for the drugs, his lawyer is digging up enough infractions that will throw the whole case out. He tells a panicking Mark that he’ll soon be a free man.
At the Horton House, Julie tells Maggie that if it were her, she’d be highly motivated to make sure the person who paralyzed her paid. Maggie doesn’t think Sarah would be dishonest to make that happen. Maggie hopes once Brady’s incarcerated, Xander and Sarah can move forward and heal. Julie looks off dubiously. They return to discussing Chad and “Abby,” hopeful Paris is doing them good. When they marvel over Clyde’s involvement, Julie declares that since he’s in supermax, he can’t hurt them ever again.
At the mansion, Sarah desperately tells EJ she made a mistake. He says that mistake will cost her ten years behind bars. Brady agreed to that sentence, and EJ will make someone serve it. If not Brady, then Sarah. He will use Sarah’s original statement to put Brady in prison. If they try to stop him, he’ll just have Sarah take Brady’s place. He leaves it up to them and departs. Seething, Xander leaves to talk to Kristen in hopes she’ll still give them the serum.
At Small Bar, Fiona tells Eric that Brady initially left alone, but she followed him outside and offered to call him a cab. He insisted he was fine, so she let him go. Eric asks if she was drinking that night. Offended, she states she hasn’t had a drink in years because she’s a recovering alcoholic. Eric points out Brady’s one, too. When she grows tired of his questions, he politely smiles. He says she’s been very helpful and leaves.
At the prison, Clyde tells Mark he’ll be the one to kill Chad. Mark refuses. Clyde says, “Either Chad dies, or your mama dies.”
In Paris, “Abby” stops her make-out session with Chad. She can’t do this. She flashes back to agonizing over the situation with Mark, but tells Chad it’s not a good idea to be intimate just yet. There’s something they should do first. “What if we got married?”
Eric comes to the Kirakis mansion to see Sarah. “Is Brady innocent?” he asks. “Are you covering for your mother-in-law?” Meanwhile, at Small Bar, Fiona sips a martini as she hopes Eric bought her story.
