Xander comes to the Square, which is decorated for the wedding. Jack strolls up, surprising the groom. He coldly explains that he’s in town because Abigail might be alive and brings up Xander stealing The Spectator from him. Xander offers Jack his half-back. He regrets what he did, lamenting that he lost his best friend, maybe the only one he’s ever had. He’ll have Justin draw up the papers. Jack will keep his eye on the mail. He tells Xander to give his love to the bride. “What exactly does she see in you?” he quips. “That is the burning question, isn’t it?” Xander responds. Jack says Xander has a good one, imploring him to “earn it.”
Maggie comes to Sarah’s apartment as the bride and Bonnie wonder who trashed Xander’s mom’s wedding invitation. Theresa guiltily averts her eyes. The other women eliminate suspects until they land on her. Theresa admits it, claiming she feared Fiona would cause a scene. Bonnie proudly reveals that she mailed the invitation anyway. Sarah notes Fiona still didn’t RSVP. Maggie and Bonnie drag Sarah away to help her get dressed. Alone, Theresa gasps, hoping Fiona doesn’t show.
In the Kiriakis mansion, Alex declares Justin is not his father anymore. It’s time he accepts that. He backtracks. He didn’t mean to lash out like that, but it’s time for Justin to get over his anger at Victor. Justin can’t get over the fact that the man he considered a second father pitted them against each other — from his grave, no less. Alex retorts that if he considers him the enemy now, then he shouldn’t officiate his wedding. Justin angrily agrees as Sonny enters. After hugging Sonny, Alex leaves to let Justin “catch up with his real son.”
Sonny asks his father if he’s okay. Holding back tears, Justin says he’s not. Justin misses Victor, but he will never forgive him for this. Sonny won’t either. Justin pulls out the letter Anjelica wrote Victor. He carries it around, rereading it, hoping to find one thing that will tell him it’s all a mistake. Sonny assures Justin he will always be his son and embraces him. Alex returns to apologize for what he said earlier. He’d be grateful to have Justin marry him and Theresa. It’d be Justin’s honor.
Roman talks with Kimberly on the phone, sorry to hear she and Shane can’t make the wedding. Andrew enters the Pub, surprising his uncle. Andrew jokes he’s the designated family rep. Roman knows Theresa will be thrilled. Andrew flashes back to confronting Theresa about helping Konstantin kidnap Victoria. He tells Roman that Theresa doesn’t know he’s coming. An excited Stephanie walks in, excited to see her cousin. She relays that her parents can’t make the wedding. Roman adds that Kate is too busy securing the rights to a soap opera. He steps away, allowing the cousins to catch up.
At the townhouse, Brady pours a glass of vodka. “Whatcha up to there, bro?” a tux-clad Paul asks upon arriving. Brady didn’t realize he was coming. Paul points out his boyfriend’s sister is getting married. Eyeing the bottle, Paul asks if he’s off the wagon. Brady admits he was thinking about it. After they talk about Theresa, Brady slides the drink away. It was just a weak moment. Paul grabs the glass to pour it out, but Brady stops him with a hug first.
Having changed into a form-fitting strapless gown, with floppy bows at the shoulders, Theresa answers the apartment door to Andrew. She happily embraces her brother, who quizzically motions to something. Theresa says she’s watching Victoria while Sarah gets ready. “Oh, the kid you kidnapped?” She shushes Andrew, who swears he hasn’t told anyone, not even Paul. However, Sarah did call asking about leads on Konstantin’s accomplice. Sarah emerges in a form-fitting halter-style gown. Andrew tells Sarah the accomplice’s trail has gone cold. They assume it was a local thug who’d have no interest in causing her trouble now that Konstantin is dead. Theresa stops pacing to ask her brother to walk her down the aisle. Maggie tells the brides how proud she is of them both.
As guests gather in the Square, Alex and Xander stand before rows of chairs. Shrubbery and columns loom behind them. Alex wears a classic tux with a long tie, and Xander wears a formal jacket and kilt. They trade barbs before Andrew walks Theresa down the aisle. Maggie and Sarah follow. Justin presides over Alex and Theresa’s wedding first. Theresa steals glances at a glowering Brady as she tells Alex how much she wants to make him happy. They say their vows and exchange rings. Justin pronounces them husband and wife. Brady walks away. Paul stops him, but Brady promises his brother he’s headed to a meeting.
Xander and Sarah exchange places with Alex and Theresa, and Maggie with Justin. Maggie knows Victor would be very happy that his family came together in this way tonight. If there is anyone who knows any reason why Xander and Sarah should not be joined in matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace. A trim grey-haired woman (played by Serena Scott Thomas) appears in a plunging dress with a fringe skirt. “I’m so sorry I’m late,” she casually says. Everyone turns to her. “Mum?” Xander says wide-eyed. Sitting with Alex, Theresa tensely stares, chest heaving.
Next, on Days of Our Lives, the wedding crasher spells trouble for Theresa, and Brady commiserates with Ava.
