Hospital administrator Seth Burns comes to Kayla’s office. Citing legal and insurance liabilities, he rejects the proposal to shoot Body and Soul there. Rebutting all his concerns, Kayla changes his mind. However, Seth has one condition.

In the Body and Soul office, Chanel and Alex inform Johnny that their appeal to delay their love scene only reinforced Kate’s desire to shoot it now. Alex rattles on about how hard it must be for Johnny to watch Alex put his hands all over his wife. He suggests they get a different director just for those scenes. Johnny seethes, insisting he’s fully capable of doing it.

At the Pub, which is set up for B&S filming, Leo tries to appease Bonnie, who’s furious over being written off the show. Bonnie knows it’s Hattie’s fault. Hattie claims that keeping her happy over Bonnie was a no-brainer. Hedging, Leo says, “Not exactly.” Bonnie declares her agent husband won’t let them get away with this and storms out. Hattie beams to a subdued Leo that everything is going her way.

Kate and Abe tensely face each other in the Square

As Abe and Kate discuss B&S drama in the Square, they agree that once Hattie made her ultimatum, a decision had to be made. Kate just hopes it was the right one. Later, Abe calls Johnny with news of location and script changes. He tells him to get to the hospital.

Leo joins Abe in the Square to tell him how badly it went with Bonnie. Abe states that one of them had to go. Now, they just have to get through those scenes.

Stephanie meets Jada at the police station as she works in the interrogation room. Stephanie thanks her for calling to let her know that Everett was innocent. Jada is sorry she was alone when she heard. Stephanie tells her Alex was there. Jada’s eyes light up, but Stephanie insists they’re just friends. “You sure about that?” Jada asks.

Bonnie returns to the Pub as she tearfully talks with Justin on the phone. She knows he would have made it happen if he could. Appearing sympathetic, Hattie approaches. Bonnie was really looking forward to working with her. They were going to be a team, like when they replaced Marlena and Adrienne. Except this time, no one was going to get hurt. But it was the opposite of what she pictured. There was no fun, no laughs, and someone did get hurt, really bad. Bonnie again storms out.

Kate meets Kayla in her office and learns her B&S proposal was accepted — with a condition. Wearing a white doctor’s coat, Seth joins them. He informs Kate he is playing Dr. Blake Lamoray, the Chief of Staff of the fictional Pine View hospital. Resigned, Kate leaves to fire the actor originally hired to play the part.

In Kayla's office, Seth stands between her and Kate. He wears a doctor's lab coat and a stethoscope around his neck.

After Abe fails to explain his position about Bonnie to Justin on the phone, he sits with Leo in the Square. Leo looks up from his laptop, having finished his new pages for Bonnie’s character. Leo leaves as Hattie arrives. She tells Abe she didn’t expect Bonnie’s exit to be so final. She shivers over the way she’s being written out.

Johnny comes to the hospital set, where Bonnie sits in a hospital bed. He wonders why she’s been made up to look near death. Since he hasn’t read the new pages yet, she explains she’s being killed off. She was so proud to be part of the show. “Why are they doing this to me?” She wails and pulls him into an embrace.

At B&S, Chanel and Alex admit they are starting to like each other as friends again. He’d like to get back to where they used to be and peacefully co-exist at work. She knows what happened with Allie wasn’t his fault and suggests they try to see the best in each other. Alex is all for it. He gets a text from Leo, who summons him to the hospital. Chanel’s eyes pensively dart as he leaves. She later peeks at her character’s love scene, which she knows Johnny will hate.

In the interrogation room, Stephanie admits to Jada that she kissed Alex when she got Everett’s ashes. However, he put a stop to it because he’s still getting over Theresa, and she’s getting over Everett, and he doesn’t want to ruin their friendship again. Stephanie doesn’t either, but she confesses she’s been having thoughts about him. But Alex isn’t in the same place. Maybe she should take a break from relationships in general.

On the hospital set, Seth stiffly acts in character as he brings Hattie’s Charlemagne to see Bonnie’s Cassandra. Cassandra explains she contracted an incurable disease in Tangier. Hattie grows emotional as Charlemagne tells Cassandra how much she’ll miss her.

In a hospital bed, a teary-eyed Bonnie takes a pink flower from Alex.

When Johnny gets the last few pages from Leo, he tells a surprised Hattie she’s done for the day. Hattie wishes Bonnie well, even if Bonnie hates her guts at the moment. “You got that right,” Bonnie flatly says. After Hattie leaves, Seth takes issue with the script as his doctor character confirms to Cassandra she’s dying. Alex rushes in as Arrow. He tells his mother, Cassandra, that he discovered a rare flower that will save her life. Bonnie breaks character to exclaim, “Does this mean I’m not getting killed off after all?” Johnny grins and shrugs.

Hattie approaches Abe and Leo at the hospital coffee station. She learns Bonnie’s Cassandra isn’t the one getting killed off. “You are.”
