Connie’s reign is finally over on Days of Our Lives. And honestly, when all is said and done, that wasn’t so bad! She only killed two people and put a pair of siblings in the hospital. No big deal, really, for a town like Salem.
Jada’s arrested her, Gabi and Melinda were saved and Connie is being sent off to Bayview. That’s all she wrote — and honestly, it may be as happy an ending as she can get. Even Jada pointed out how clearly off her rocker she is, so she’ll either get the help she needs or she’ll live happily ever after with Li. He made one last, deluded return to declare his love for the bonkers murderer and tell her they’ll be together forever. It was kind of sweet… In a Norman Bates Psycho way.

Still, that means that her and Julie Dove’s time on Days of Our Lives is finally up. At least for now. Because we never expected to have seen her anywhere near this much back when Dove first appeared on the soap she grew up loving! So there’s always a chance she could be back someday, though hopefully a lot less murderous and unhinged.
“I don’t think we know if there’s redemption for Connie,” Dove said early in her murder spree. You never know how she’ll be after some time in Bayview — especially since it’s so clear that she’s unwell. “I’d like to, I’d like to think at some point there is.”
If we’re being honest, there was little doubt where this was heading right from the start. There was no way Connie would last once the show declared her Li’s murderer. And then Rafe’s stabbing, Everett’s killing… Yeah, there’s just no real coming back from that. Well, unless you’re Ben.
But as Dove put it, “I made a joke once to [director] Noel Maxam. I said, ‘Only contract players get away with murder.’”
And that’s something that’s all too true today. And with Li dead and no one around to hallucinate him anymore, we’re guessing that’s also it for him, Cardboard Li and Remington Hoffman. So farewell, Connie. You may have been insane, but as Gabi said, you really were a good assistant. Before you tried to murder her.
