Kate comes to the Horton House to pitch Chad an investment idea. However, she detects he’s distracted. He tells her how Abby’s coffin was empty and about the video Clyde sent him. It’s killing him to think Abby could be out there somewhere, and he has no idea how to find her.
At the hospital, Kayla tells Stephanie about the Abby mystery. Stephanie reels and then pivots to discussing Everett/Bobby. Stephanie gets a call from Marlena about Everett re-emerging. Stephanie wants to see him, but Kayla suggests she give him time to reacclimate. Stephanie needs to know that he’s really back. Being away from him has made her realize how much she cares about him. Kayla encourages her to go then, but sighs as her daughter rushes off.
Bobby pours himself a drink in his Salem Inn room. He anticipates picking up where he and Jada left off — as soon as “that freak who killed Li Shin holds up her end of the bargain.” He fantasizes about a seductive Jada coming to his room.
Gabi runs into Jada outside the Pub. The women embrace. Gabi thanks her for helping to free her, but Jada gives Rafe and Stefan all the credit. They discuss how Bobby claims to know who really killed Li. However, now that Everett’s back, Jada can’t get any answers. She needs to find Rafe to update him. Gabi tells her he’s at Abigail’s grave.
As Rafe talks to Paulina on the phone at the cemetery, Connie stabs him in the back. He falls face-first on the ground and goes limp. Connie apologizes, but she had to kill him so that Bobby will keep quiet about her killing Li. Now, she just has to bury him in the empty grave, and no one will ever be the wiser. She hears Jada call out for Rafe and sneaks away. Jada rushes to Rafe’s side and finds his pulse. She calls for help.
After getting disconnected from Rafe, Paulina and Abe try to process Abigail possibly being alive. Abe then tells her that he and Kate are trying to save Body & Soul by producing it themselves. She loves the idea, especially since he knows the show so well. He thought he did, but he’s been doing research and discovered all the outlandish plots over the years: aliens, talking dolls, split personalities. He assures her they won’t be moving to L.A. because of the tax incentives in Salem. He hopes they can lure the actors there. If not, they can always recast.
At the Horton House, Chad asks Kate about her business proposition. He needs a distraction while he waits for Clyde’s video to be enhanced. She tells him about her and Abe’s idea for Body & Soul. They’re confident they can grow the existing audience and make a substantial profit. Chad had a good time working on Johnny’s movie (brief as it was), so sure, why not? Kate will send over the paperwork. In the meantime, she reminds him that he lost Abigail before, but she came back to him. It could happen again. He thinks that might be why he hasn’t been able to move on — subconsciously, he knows she’s still out there.
Wearing just a towel around his waist, Bobby answers his door to Stephanie. Covering his disappointment that she’s not Jada, Bobby dresses and pretends to be Everett. Stephanie is thrilled to see Everett, but he says they can’t see each other anymore. He has a long way to go before he’s fully integrated and needs to focus all his energy on becoming mentally healthy. Visibly disappointed, Stephanie assures him she understands. She will be there for him as a friend. He tears up, calling her the best. He’ll never forget how hard she fought for him. After she leaves, Bobby rolls his eyes and smirks.
Outside the Pub, Gabi leaves a message for Ava. She’s serious about reviving Gabi Chic at DiMera. She’s already putting together a team. Connie approaches. “How exciting! Where do I sign up?” Gabi hangs up as Connie talks herself up as a Gabi Chic stan and employee. She’s very loyal. “You’d never have to worry about me stabbing you in the back.”
At the hospital, Jada anxiously watches as Kayla works on Rafe. Kayla tells her to wait in the hallway. Through tears, Jada tells Rafe she loves him.
Kate comes to Abe and Paulina’s to tell them Chad is investing in the show. Paulina wants to invest as well, but Abe says it’s a conflict of interest since they’ll need city permits to shoot. Kate also arranged a meeting with the studio, who is interested in selling the rights to Body & Soul.
Stephanie comes to see Chad at the Horton House. She hopes he gets a positive outcome with Abigail. He asks about Everett. She says he has a long way to go, but at least Bobby isn’t in control of his life anymore.
Connie comes to Bobby’s hotel room. He tells her he faked being Everett to get out of Bayview and to avoid discussing Li’s murderer. “What are you doing to hold up your end of the bargain?” Connie assures him it’s already done. Rafe won’t be a problem for him or anyone else ever again.
In the hospital lobby, Jada orders someone on the phone to find who stabbed Rafe. She then recalls Rafe asking her to move in with him. Gabi rushes off the elevator. She gasps in horror, wondering who could have done this to her brother.
In his hospital room, Rafe’s monitor goes off. “He’s going into shock,” Kayla declares. “We’re losing him!”
