At home, over coffee, Paulina gets excited over Abe making her baby girl a star. Abe credits Johnny with the idea to cast Chanel on Body and Soul, but notes she has to audition first. Paulina has no doubt she’ll land the part, but balks at Alex potentially playing her love interest. She worries Johnny will have a problem with it because of Chanel’s threesome with Alex and Allie. Shocked, Abe says that explains the love/hate sparks he witnessed between Chanel and Alex. When he mentions Johnny and Chanel don’t know Alex is auditioning, Paulina declares he better tell them before all hell breaks loose.
Johnny finds Chanel going over her lines in the DiMera living room. They look forward to him directing her audition for the role of Faith and wonder who will play her love interest, Arrow. As they rehearse, Johnny realizes he’ll have to get used to the idea of another guy kissing his wife and her pretending to like it. Chanel assures him he is the only Arrow she wants in her quiver. They go upstairs to practice the love scene — and miss Abe’s call.
When Alex comes to Stephanie’s apartment, he learns she got hired to do Body and Soul’s PR. He shares he’s auditioning for the show, which she questions since he has no acting experience. He says it can’t be that hard, and besides, it’s just for fun, so if he doesn’t get it, it’s no big deal. However, he is a little nervous. She runs lines with him involving Arrow and Faith discussing how Dr. Stenbeck brought Arrow back to life after his brain was transplanted into Charlemagne.
Things get heated between Stephanie and Alex as Arrow professes his love to Faith. He pleads with Faith to believe in him and in love. When it comes time for the kiss, Alex awkwardly backs off, saving that for the audition. Stephanie tells him he was great, but suggests he slow down and let the scene breathe. He hugs her in appreciation. She tells him to break a leg as he leaves. Alone, she cringes over using the expression.
As Roman makes Kate breakfast at the Pub, she proposes he close two days a week so they can film Body and Soul there. He agrees. Kate further asks him to request Kayla allow them to use the nurses’ station for their Pineview Hospital set.
Hattie comes to the Body and Soul office pretending to be Marlena, who now wants the part of Charlemagne. Though conflicted, Leo stands by Hattie. Starting to cry, she embraces him. Realizing Hattie was just testing him, Leo orders her to never do that again. He’s had it with doppelgangers. Bonnie enters, furious that Charlemagne has the last word in every scene. Charlemagne also has more lines than her character, Kassandra, who she claims is the star of the show. Hattie counters that Charlemagne is the star. Leo sighs and rolls his eyes.
Later, Bonnie marches into the Pub ranting to Roman about Leo not caring about her grievances. She wants to talk to Kate about that hack Leo and his diva leading lady. Hattie strolls in, wondering if she’s the diva Bonnie is referring to. Hattie asks Roman to decide which of them is better suited for the cover of Soaps and Style Magazine.
Chanel and Johnny come to the Body and Soul office spouting off facts about how soaps got their start. Chanel playfully says she needs to get in character and start thinking about her hot new mystery man. Johnny quips about her torturing him. She assures him he is the only leading man in her life and always will be. They kiss as Alex arrives for his audition. “With any luck,” he says, “I’m going to be the Arrow to your Faith.” Johnny disdainfully chuckles, and Chanel grimaces.
