CBS’ new soap Beyond the Gates announced its first casting last week and fans of The Bold and the Beautiful’s Karla Mosley (ex-Maya) were thrilled to hear that she was among the three ladies named in lead roles. As one can imagine, the actress was thrilled as well and took to social media to share thoughts on her big daytime comeback.

“It’s been a minute, but it’s time to get back to it,” Mosley stated then went on to express that her “gratitude could not be any deeper” for soap opera icon Michele Val Jean, the executive producer and headwriter for the much-anticipated new soap. Of her “dear friend,” the actress continued by praising Val Jean for “your vision, courage and joy in creating this groundbreaking project. The first new soap in over 20 years, y’all!”

Soap vets Tamara Tunie (As the World Turns’ Jessica) and Daphnee Duplaix (Passions’ Valerie) were also cast, to which Mosley shared, “My heart is just exploding. What a gift to be cast opposite both of you.”

She continued by thanking her CBS family and stated, “I am so proud to be back,” then sent thanks to casting director Kim Taylor Coleman, the Creative Talent Company and the Buchwald agency for “seeing me for so long.”

After shouting out a big “let’s go!” Mosley sent an extra shoutout to her “partner in all things,” John Djoser R., for “saying yes to this adventure. Big vision. Big changes. Big rewards. We are blessed.”

Mosley will be playing the role of Dani, described as the wild child of the Dupree family. After giving up her career as a top model, for the sake of love, she will now spend her days as a momager — and some of her daytime peers came out to celebrate Mosley’s new role. Reign Edwards, who played her onscreen sister Nicole on Bold & Beautiful, cheered, “Ayyeeeee,” as Courtney Hope (Young & Restless’ Sally) stated, “Yay! I was hoping this would happen.” Darin Brooks (ex-Wyatt) added, “I just saw! Congrats!” and Linsey Godfrey (Days of Our Lives’ Sarah) shared, “Yes! So happy for you!”

And we couldn’t be happier for Mosley as well! Stay tuned, folks, as more drama is set to hit CBS daytime in 2025.
