Bold & Beautiful Gives Lisa Yamada a ‘Killer’ Send-Off as Luna: But She’s a ‘Star to Keep Watching,’ Says Castmate
As Lenny Kravitz once sang, it ain’t over till it’s over. And although the jig is up for Bold & Beautiful murderess Luna Nozawa, Lisa Yamada isn’t out, not necessarily.
In real life, of course, we’d like to think that someone who killed two people and locked a third in a cage would be sent up the river for the rest of her life. But Bold & Beautiful plays by a different set of rules, one in which Sheila Carter, who’s shot, assaulted and/or abducted just about everyone who’s ever been on the soap, is now depicted as the kind of “complicated” heroine with whom even judgy Katie Logan will have tea.
So Luna may well be in no way, shape or form done. Certainly, the show has laid the groundwork for some deep-seated psychological problems to have come into play. The young woman we first met would never have done the things the perp who was arrested would. A few months in a psychiatric facility, and Luna could be released to start over.
At that point, who knows what could happen? R.J. would probably want to steer clear. But Zende, having pursued Luna so amorously, might decide to roll the dice and shoot his shot with her. And if Luna wasn’t lying about her having the best sex ever with him, she just might take him up on his offer to stand by her as she embarks on a redemption tour.
On September 6, the day Poppy learned her daughter was going to let her rot behind bars (read the recap here), Naomi Matsuda shared to Instagram a post that may have hinted at more to come for Yamada. Li’s portrayer exclaimed that she’d had “so much fun working with Lisa… [Her] work is truly so natural and beyond. I am looking forward to working with her again very soon.
“Lisa,” she added, “is a star to keep watching!”
