In the design office, Hope looks at a photo of Finn and Steffy online. She slams the laptop shut when Brooke walks in. Her mother complains about Sheila being released and then says she wants to talk to her daughter about something else, “Ridge and me.”
Brooke tells her that Ridge is planning a big splash in Monte Carlo to announce she’ll be the new face of the bedroom line relaunch. “Well, not just the face. It is lingerie after all.” Hope’s thrilled but realizes her mother is less so. Brooke didn’t picture herself as the spokesperson… it was her line a long time ago. Hope thinks it’s a great idea and sends a message about timeless beauty. Brooke is flattered but still wonders if she’s the right fit for that demographic. Hope points out she wears lingerie and is as beautiful as ever. Brooke’s just having qualms about wearing it in front of a camera. Hope thinks she could help other women feel sexy and confident. “I’m personally hoping you will say yes.” Brooke whispers, “I already did.” Hope squeals and they embrace.
In the main office, Ridge and Steffy discuss Sheila’s release. Steffy asks if it wasn’t her, then who could have done it. Switching gears, Steffy asks, “Dad, why would you make Brooke the spokesperson for the bedroom line?” She reminds him she’s co-CEO and he needs to consult her on these things. This isn’t a relaunch, it’s a flashback and that’s not something she wants to flash back on. Ridge asks if this is about family history. Steffy argues there are so many beautiful models in the building; there are so many celebrities that would sign on, “Why Brooke?” Ridge says she’s beautiful and admired all over the world, that’s why. Steffy complains that he brought her on the executive team without consulting her and now wants to make her the lead model. “The line is already profitable. I’m sorry, Dad, I think you’re making a huge mistake!”
At Bill’s place, Katie vows to Poppy that she won’t stop looking for answers to the questions she has about her. “I don’t think Bill has any idea what he’s gotten himself into.” Poppy smirks. She says her relationship with Bill has nothing to do with her. Katie has to ask her again… if she knew Bill was Luna’s father why did she wait twenty years to let the truth come out?”
Li’s surprised when Bill shows up in her office. Bill teases, “I’m nothing if not full of surprises.” He wanted to come by and thank her for everything. “Running the paternity test. Making sure it was done correctly…” Li smiles. Bill tells her how happy he is to have Luna as his daughter. She gives him a pointed look and says, “I was happy to help.”
Li tells Bill he’s exactly the kind of father her niece deserves. Bill says he loves Luna. Li nods, “So do I. You’ll be a good influence in her life.” Bill goes on about how different he feels as a man and a father. He chuckles that Liam says he’s becoming a girl dad. He wants to keep his family close. Narrowing his eyes, Bill intones, “Spencers stick together. We have each other’s backs. Now, it might be a bit old fashioned wanting to bring my people together, but now that Poppy and Luna are family, you are as well.” Li beams, “Bill… you don’t know what that means to me.”
She recalls that he’s already done so much for her by saving her life. Bill insists he was just in the right place at the right time. Li argues he brought a stranger into his home. Bill says she’s not a stranger anymore; she’s his daughter’s aunt. Li is so relieved that Luna’s father is such a good man. “I owe you so much.” Bill replies, “Then you wouldn’t mind doing me a favor.” He wants her and Poppy to get along. Li scoffs, “Just a little favor, huh?” Bill says it wouldn’t hurt to try. Family is important to him. “If there’s anything that I can do to help you and your sister heal your differences, you can count on me. You’re one of us now.”
At Bill’s place, Poppy tells Katie that Bill understands why she couldn’t say anything. Katie argues that she didn’t just keep the secret from Bill, she kept if from her daughter as well. Out of nowhere she changed her mind and got a paternity test done, “After all this time.” Poppy says it was time she needed. Katie asks, “Why?! For what?!” She says something doesn’t add up here and she’s going to find out what it is.
In Li’s office, Bill tells her there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for her. “You helped give me a daughter. You’re under the Spencer umbrella now.” Li gets choked up over her niece having him in his life. The way he’s so proud and happy to be her father is what family should look like. She laments all the grueling work she put in over the years and then her marriage was destroyed by Jack’s affair with Sheila. Bill tells her Jack let her down, but he won’t. “Family is my priority. Now I have a daughter… due in large part to you.” Li replies, “Bill, you saved my life. It was the least I could do to repay you.” Bill smiles.
In the main office, Ridge tells Steffy that making Brooke the spokesperson will send an empowering message to women all over the world. Steffy argues that he’s not doing this to expand the demographic, he wants to do this for Brooke. “I mean everything is Brooke, Brooke, Brooke.” She accuses her father of wanting to go backwards. He repeats that it’s an empowering message. Steffy thinks that will be lost with Brooke as the spokesperson; the spotlight will be on Brooke and not the message. Ridge is sorry the family breakup is still hurting her. Steffy says, “So, you agree you’re elevating Brooke.” She mutters about her tearing their family apart. Ridge says he left her mother. If she wants to be mad at someone, she should be mad at him. Or not be mad at all and try to get past it. He loves her and is proud of her and her work. He knows she can get past it. “This whole Forrester versus Logan, that’s gone. That’s done.” Steffy tears up.
In the design office, Brooke and Hope enthuse over her being the spokesperson. Hope tells her it will be amazing… she will be amazing. Hope is thrilled for her and urges her mom not to overthink it and just be her wonderful self. Hope is sure this will pay off bigtime. She comes alive in the spotlight; it’s marvelous to watch. She knows Brooke’s Bedroom and the relaunch will be a huge success. Brooke hopes so… but she knows someone who won’t be as excited. Hope sighs, “Steffy.”
At Bill’s place, Poppy is pacing the floor fuming about Katie questioning her in her own home when Luna comes in and asks what’s wrong. Poppy says it’s nothing for her to worry about. Luna asks, “What happened?” Poppy says she just had another run in with Bill’s ex-wife. “That infuriating woman, just so judgemental and sticking her nose where it doesn’t belong!” Luna gawps, “What did she say to you?!” Poppy won’t tell her and urges her daughter to focus on her happy new life. Luna says she loves it. Poppy does too, “And I will do whatever it takes to keep it.”
Katie turns up at Li’s office and says she just came from Bill’s. She had another unpleasant experience with her sister and was wondering if she could help her with it. Katie understands the two of them aren’t close. “Can I ask you about that?” Li doesn’t like the way Penelope has lived her life. She’s always lived off of the generosity of older men. Katie realizes she’s calling her a golddigger. She has concerns and has to ask her, “You did the paternity test for Bill and Luna. Is there any chance… any chance at all that the test could be wrong?”
Next on The Bold and the Beautiful: Brooke and Hope worry about Steffy furthering the Forrester-Logan feud, Katie makes it her mission to find out about Poppy’s past, and Steffy allows past hurts to surface when speaking with Ridge.
