Young & Restless Exclusive Preview: Chance Is About to ‘Tick Off the One Person You Don’t Wanna Tick Off!’ Warns Conner Floyd
As the investigation into Heather’s death heats up, one person in particular will be in the hot seat… and it’s not necessarily who you think! Because as The Young and the Restless‘ Conner Floyd puts it, “Pretty much every scene Chance walks into turns into an awkward situation, because nobody is happy to see him!”
It ain’t easy being a soap opera cop, given that you pretty much only investigate crimes involving people you know! This week, Chance continues to eye Daniel suspiciously… and that has the very unfortunate side effect of putting him on the radar of one person in particular. “He’s about to tick off the one person you don’t want to tick off,” laughs Floyd, referring to Daniel’s temperamental mom, Phyllis.
The actor says that following Chance’s brief stint in the corporate world, “He’s excited to get back to doing what he loves. Plus, he’s looking forward to getting justice for Heather, someone he cared about.” Doing so will, however, come at a price. “He’s catching heat from every angle, and from everybody in town!”
Eventually, it seems inevitable that things will get even more difficult when the investigation shifts in the direction of Chance’s ex, Sharon! This, of course, will raise a very important question: What kind of police officer is Nina’s son? Might he consider turning a blind eye toward evidence suggesting Sharon’s guilt?
“I wouldn’t put it past him,” admits Floyd. “He’s been in this situation before. Remember, he did throw Nick a bone during the Ashland Locke investigation.” (For those needing a reminder, Chance ultimately chose to file Locke’s death as an accident rather than pursuing a path which might well have seen both Nick and his dad, Victor, wind up behind bars.)
While Chance probably won’t enjoy being on Phyllis’ bad side, Floyd couldn’t be more thrilled. “I love working with Michelle Stafford,” he enthuses. “She’s so unpredictable, and you never know what’s going to happen next. She keeps you on your toes and, as an actor, that’s fun. I tell her every time we work together that I’m jealous, because Phyllis doesn’t really have any rules.”
As for Chance’s investigation, he warns that “things are about to get really messy, and Chance will be right in the thick of it!”
