Coincidence… or not? That is the question. Just as Young & Restless’ Nate Hastings Jr. recieved a cryptic text from a person named Amy Lewis, comes news that one of the character’s ex-girlfriends, who has been MIA for quite some time, has been back on the set.
Nate’s been mid-burner for months, first acting as an advisor to his cousins at Chancellor Winters, and more recently, counseling his bed partner, Audra Charles, as she tangles with Victor and Kyle. However, it now seems as though the character is about to get a story of his own, if that text he recieved is anything to go by.
Nate, of course, had no clue who Amy Lewis was when she reached out to him, but longtime Young & Restless fans know she was his late father Nate Sr.’s former girlfriend. It’s intriguing that she would contact the doctor-turned-executive at all, but the content of her message made it even more so. Amy is claiming they need to meet about an “urgent family matter”. We can only imagine what he’ll find out when he meets the woman.
Whatever unfolds, he’ll need a someone to confide in, and Audra’s not known for her warm and fuzzy qualities. His ex-girlfriend Elena, however, was abundantly understanding, reasonable, and gave the best advice.
Strange coincidence, then, that Elena’s portrayer, Brytni Sarpy, has been back at CBS studios. In a new Instagram story she shared, Sarpy is seen back on the set, standing in front of a dressing room door with a sign saying, “Welcome back… we missed you!” The actress tagged the show and said that she missed them too. She was last seen onscreen as Elena in November 2023.
Of course, the sign also says, “13,000 episodes!!!”, meaning the actress could simply be on hand to mark the special milestone. Indeed, in a previous slide in the story, Sarpy explains she is, “Just popping in to say hi to the fam…” We suppose this means she’s just visiting and not taping, which is disappointing, if that’s the case.
Nonetheless, we’re choosing to hold out hope that Sarpy filmed some scenes while she was there, and will help Nate make sense of the mystery he’s about to dive into in good ol’ Genoa City.
