Sarah Lies for the Greater Good, September 27 Days of Our Lives

Collage of the Friday, September 27, episode of Days of Our Lives, with Soap Hub LogoSarah lies for the greater good.

Sarah Horton is usually a fairly honest person, and while she doesn’t expect her husband to follow suit completely, she has made him a better man. However, lately, Xander has regressed to old behaviors. And it’s all because of this hit-and-run that paralyzed her. In the Friday, September 27 episode of Days of Our Lives, Sarah resorted to lying for a couple of good reasons.

Lying For The Greater Good Is Acceptable Behavior

We were hoping that Sarah (Linsey Godfrey — who talks about how art imitated life with this latest storyline) and Fiona’s confrontation would turn into Sarah nailing Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas) for being the one to hit her while driving drunk and framing Brady (Eric Martsolf) for it. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. DAYS will make us wait a little longer for that payoff.

Instead, Sarah told Xander’s mom that her son had filled her in on Fiona and Brady. She then said that she called the cops so she could stop Xander (Paul Telfer) from murdering Brady.

Fiona assured Sarah that she didn’t know Brady’s relation to Xander when they hooked up and that she didn’t have to worry. Fiona and Brady were no longer a fling or a thing because she would never associate with someone who could do something so awful.

And then Sarah unleashed a lie that served to kill two birds with one stone. She told the cops and Fiona that she remembered that Brady was the one to hit her. That she could see him so clearly behind the wheel after weeks of not remembering a thing.

This lie meant Jada (Elia Cantu), the only cop doing any work at the Salem PD, headed over to Brady’s to arrest him. Of course, Brady was in bed drugged, and Xander was practically standing over him. Of course, everybody now thinks he was drinking, but the audience — and Xander — knows better. Thankfully, Sarah’s lie did the job, although it now puts Brady back in the heat of things. Right where he wanted to be the whole time, actually.

Will this arrest be enough to satisfy Xander even though he knows Sarah lied about remembering? Something tells us that’s a negative.

Sarah also directed the lie towards Fiona, and you could totally see Sarah staring at Fiona to gauge her reaction. So, once again, we’re leaning towards Sarah, remembering that Fiona did the awful deed.

Why won’t she come out and accuse Fiona outright? She wants to protect Xander’s newfound connection with Fiona. Maybe she wants to see if there’s an ounce of goodness in his mother and trusts her to come clean on her own. Or she has something more sinister she’s thinking about, which would be fun but highly doubtful.

What are your thoughts on Sarah lying for the greater good? Let us know in the comments.
