When Ava comes down from her room to the Pub, Roman stops her. Since she’s behind on rent, he offers to hire her back at the Pub.
After Paulina gets coffee from the Pub, she answers a call outside from Stefan. He has information she should know about her D.A. What she chooses to do with the information he gives her about EJ is up to her.
Gabi comes to EJ’s room in sexy red lingerie. Since they succeeded in getting revenge on Stefan, she was hoping to reward themselves with an encore performance. She passionately kisses him. EJ responds but then pulls away, calling it a bad idea. When he rebuffs her repeated advances, she states that she wants to hurt Stefan as much as possible for breaking her heart. EJ assures her she already has and muses she’s really trying to punish herself. He also just got his divorce decree from Nicole, so he’s not in the frame of mind to engage in sexual warfare. Gabi can’t believe he’s turning her down. EJ is confident it’s not what she really wants, either.
At Connie’s apartment, Melinda frantically tries to free herself from her restraints. A chipper Connie enters the bedroom with a breakfast tray, declaring today is the day Gabi will finally get what’s coming to her. “That bitch has to die.” A fearful Melinda continues tugging at her restraints as Connie talks to Cardboard Li. Connie reveals that “Li” agrees she should kill Melinda too. She lunges at her with a knife, but an unrestrained Melinda deflects her attack.
Gabi comes to the DiMera living room wearing EJ’s robe and taunts Stefan about her amazing sex marathon with his brother. Stefan doesn’t take the bait. Instead, he warns that his brother will get a taste of his own medicine. When Gabi throws EJ’s sexual prowess in his face, Stefan deduces she doesn’t want to save their marriage. She coldly confirms. He never imagined she would throw away what they have over one mistake. If she had made that mistake, he’d be mad as hell, but he’d still fight for her till the bitter end. It makes him realize she doesn’t love him the way he loves her. So, maybe she’s right and the marriage isn’t worth saving. He strolls out. Gabi pensively stares after him.
In his hospital bed, Rafe recalls hearing a voice say, “An open grave was the least of your worries.” Jada enters with Sweet Bits pastries and cozies up to him on the bed. Rafe tells her about hearing a voice upon getting stabbed. It’s a little jumbled, but he thinks it was a woman. As they wonder who would frame Bobby for his stabbing, Jada suggests it was Connie, who has a connection to Bobby. Rafe wonders why she would want him dead. Jada tells him how Melinda was going to fire her for fabricating her entire resume, but she left town instead. As a frustrated Rafe wonders how this all ties together, Jada connects the dots to Li. She rushes off to find Connie as Rafe plans to warn Gabi.
Paulina comes to EJ’s office to fire him for helping Sloan kidnap Nicole’s baby. EJ denies it. She calls him an accessory after the fact. Stefan is prepared to testify against him, so she has to fire EJ to get ahead of the scandal. EJ calls it hearsay motivated by vengeance. It will make her look foolish when the case falls apart in court. Paulina will make sure that doesn’t happen by replacing him with a brilliant D.A. EJ warns if she’s considering Melinda, she’s long gone.
At the apartment, Melinda knocks the knife from Connie’s hand and runs to the front door. Connie follows and knocks her out with a metal object. As Melinda crumples to the floor, blood smears down the door.
At the Pub, Ava comes to Stefan’s table to take his order. He’s sorry she’s working there instead of at DiMera because of his wife’s vengeance. He offers her a job at the Bistro instead. When Ava wonders how Gabi will feel about it, Stefan says he doesn’t care about her feelings anymore or what happens to her.
Connie comes to the empty DiMera living room and turns the volume off on Gabi’s phone. When Gabi enters, Connie asks after Rafe. Gabi tells her he doesn’t remember anything about his stabbing. Connie is happy to hear it because then he can’t point the finger at her. Upon Gabi’s confusion, Connie says, “Did I forget to mention? I’m the one who stabbed your brother.” She menacingly pulls out the knife from her bag. “And you’re next.”
As Rafe stares at his phone waiting for Gabi to call him back, Roman enters his hospital room. Rafe relays they think Gabi’s new assistant might be dangerous.
With a uniformed officer, Jada knocks on Connie’s apartment door. When she doesn’t answer, they enter and find blood on the floor. Jada follows bloody footprints to the bedroom. With her gun drawn, she enters the room. “Oh my god,” she whispers in shock.
Next, on Days of Our Lives, Jada processes what she finds, and Ava considers Stefan’s offer.
