Young & Restless’ Melissa Claire Egan Shares a First Photo of Her Precious New Family Member

It’s always exciting when a new family member enters the fold and The Young and the Restless’ Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) has just welcomed one of the cutest little girls into hers. The CBS soap actress introduced her rescue puppy and whether the timing is “insane” or not, we’re sure she’ll bring the family lots of love for many years to come.
“Meet Bailey Katrosar!” Egan cheered then went on to express, “We are insane for rescuing a puppy while having a baby and a toddler, but we love her and here we are!” She thanked everyone at Wagmor Pets, a rescue center, for all they do and for helping them “adopt this sweet girl over the summer.”
The actress admitted that life has been “hectic” at the moment and while still mourning their pup Sophia, who they had to say goodbye to last February, they didn’t think they were ready for another dog. However, “when are you ever ready?!” she reminded and from there, visited Wagmor Pets to see another dog that was in need of a furever home.
“We weren’t looking for a Sophia clone, but by the time we got there he had been adopted,” she shared. “Then this sweet girl came up to us when we went into the room of pups. She looked so much like Soph and we felt she sent her to us. Welcome to the family, Bailey!”
It’s strange how things work out sometimes and Sophia could have very well sent Bailey to help ease the family’s pain after losing their “special angel.” And one of Egan’s castmates agreed, as Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) stated, “Congrats! Sophia def sent her. So sweet.”
