Bold & Beautiful Drops a Bombshell with a Shocking Kiss – Bill Can’t Believe His Eyes!

Holy moly! You could’ve knocked us over with a feather when we reached the end of the August 16 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful.

It had already been a climactic half-hour, what with Bill and Luna discovering that they are not father and daughter. But then, after the young woman spoke about her upbringing and, more to the point, her admiration for her would-be pop, she planted a kiss on him!

Kinda skeevy, sure, considering that she’d been calling him Dad for weeks as a part of the Spencer family. But also, what a jaw-dropping twist. And it sets the stage for the kind of uncomfortable, psychosexual storytelling that co-creator William J. Bell was so brilliant at. (Remember, at Young & Restless, the late headwriter once had Christine unwittingly dating her brother and flirted with the idea that Victoria and husband No. 2 Cole were half siblings.)

Now, Bold & Beautiful has on its hands a potential quadrangle between RJ, Luna, Bill and Poppy. In real life, of course, mother and daughter vying for the same man’s affections would be unthinkable. But it happens on soaps all the time — perhaps especially this one (which gave us Bridget/Deacon/Brooke, Phoebe/Rick/Taylor, Sally/Anthony/Macy… ).

What’s more, Bold & Beautiful could throw Will into the mix as a potential love interest for Luna (because let’s face it, she and RJ were DOA; “cute” will only take you so far). And we do know that Bill has a thing for younger women (like Steffy). It’s preposterously juicy and delicious, messy-as-hell soapy drama.
