General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison (Drew) is going to experience a big change in his life… Not only did the star release a statement that he and wife Vanessa decided to part ways after 22 years of marriage, but he is about to become an empty nester. The ABC soap actor has stayed busy this summer and recently posted various photos with his kids Lucas and Leila.

“Summer photo dump,” Mathison shared then went on to explain, “Last few weeks before I’m an official empty nester.”

The post consisted of 10 photos that started off with a sweet one of his daughter with Leila’s arms wrapped around her dad. Next up, was Lucas standing next to his pop and though he donned a serious look, Mathison was all smiles. There were others highlighting gorgeous outdoor views and one inside featuring the coolest lounging area. There were shots of the brother and sister making memories and last but not least, a solo pic of the actor, who appeared to be out for a hike.

Prior to that, Mathison shared other photos that documented a “magical trip through Arizona” with his “two loves.” And here’s where more details surrounding his “empty nester” statement were given. “This fall, Lucas is off to London for Foundation Program at Central St. Martins fashion design,” he stated. “And Leila is off to American University in Paris for psychology… Every moment is so precious.”

He also gave his followers a glimpse into the day when Leila graduated high school and expressed, “Your dedication, resilience, and passion have brought you to this moment, and I couldn’t be prouder. You amaze me every single day. I love you so much. Here’s to all the adventures that lie ahead.”

While we send Lucas and Leila our best wishes as they start new chapters in their lives, we’ll be thinking of Mathison as he settles into his empty nest, which isn’t always easy when you’re missing those who took flight from it.
