Bye-Bye, Back Burner: Bold & Beautiful’s Liam Is Bound for an Epic Comeback

At times, being on The Bold and the Beautiful must feel like riding a seesaw. One minute, you’re up; the next, down. Case in point: For years, Scott Clifton was a front-and-center leading man. Then, one day we woke up to find that Liam had been relegated to the role of backburner talk-to.
Thankfully, his status seems likely to change again — and in shocking fashion, too.
Much in the same way that Don Diamont’s Bill went from twiddling his thumbs on the sidelines to getting a whole new family as well as an exceedingly jealous ex, Clifton’s Liam appears to be poised for another hot plot. The only question is, with whom?
Considering the way that the character has supported ex-wife Steffy in her mistrust of Sheila, she’d be an obvious choice. All it would take to turn Steffy back in Liam’s direction would be for Finn to share so much as a kiss with his smitten stepsister-in-law, Hope (who we suspect is dealing with bigger issues than mere lustfulness).
Speaking of Liam’s other ex-wife… yep, Hope is another option. She’s expressed no interest lately in reuniting with Beth’s father. But if she wanted to distract herself from the fantasies about Finn that replaced her fantasies about Thomas, throwing herself anew at Liam would be a way to do it — and in a no-harm, no-foul kinda way since he is neither engaged (as Thomas is) nor married (as Finn is).
We’re still bewildered by Ivy’s blink-and-you-missed-it return for just long enough to lock lips with Liam. So she could come back to pick up where they left off. Or, as Clifton himself has noted, it would be a blast and a half to see Amber return to stir the pot once again.
Our hope, though, is that Bold & Beautiful is planning another shock on par with the reveal, way back when, that Eric and Quinn were hooking up. We want to be surprised — stunned, even — to learn that all this time that we thought Liam was flying solo, he was secretly sleeping with someone we all know and love. (Here’s our idea for his mystery woman.)
