Melissa’s Take on Abby and Devon’s Love Story
The Young and the Restless star talked about Abby in a chat with Soap Opera Digest. She explained how we start overthinking everything and suddenly wonder, “What am I doing? Is this a mistake?” Moreover, Melissa believes her character sees Devon as her one true love, the perfect partner who ticks all the boxes. The couple barely ever argue, and they seem to click effortlessly.
However, Abby can’t help but worry that getting married might jinx their courtship. The lady has a daunting track record in the marriage department and doesn’t want to repeat past mistakes. Plus, Abby deeply loves Devon and fears that a marriage label could mess things up. In addition, Abby doesn’t want Devon to end up as just another fling in her list of failed relationships.
She has learned her lessons during relationships with Stitch, Chance, and even Arturo, where things just didn’t work out. The last thing Abby wants is to hurt Devon on the CBS soap. She sees him as both her partner and best friend. Consequently, Abby voiced these concerns during a video call with her mom, Ashley. Her mum reassured her that it’s completely normal to have such fears.
Also, she encouraged Abby to listen to her heart and trust her feelings. However, any newfound confidence Abby might have gained from that candid talk vanished when she bumped into Kyle. What did he do? The man jokingly suggested having divorce papers ready in case things don’t work out. It didn’t quite exactly help, and Abby’s anxieties ramped up.
